Under construction
A large pop-up hide is currently in place with uncomfortable fold out chairs, a cushion will be supplied. You will need a tripod in the pop-up hide. It gets cold, but the subjects are worth it.
This will be a two person hide facing in a westerly direction, nestled under old Oak trees.
Good for most weather conditions. The pop-up hide is on the exact location of the intended hide.
Surrounded mainly by Oak and Willow trees, overlooking a small meadow that is fox central, several territories overlap at this location.
Located about 300 meters from the carpark area. There are paths to follow but you will have to traverse steep, rocky, sometimes muddy and uneven ground.
Wellingtons or waterproof walking boots are a necessity in wet weather, you are on a farm and tracks get muddy.
Wear suitable warm clothing.
We see a lot of small bird activity at this location, as well as Magpies, Jackdaws, Rooks, Hooded Crows and Ravens.
Pheasants and Foxes are seen daily.
Foxes and Badgers are frequent visitors, Badgers are mostly nocturnal, but hopefully the summer evenings will see some action. Foxes are around at all times of the day, throughout the year.
Sika Deer, Hares and Hedgehogs are infrequent visitors, mostly passing through at Dawn and Dusk.
Common Buzzards are visiting a bit more frequently in the late evenings.
Sparrowhawks and Barn Owls are infrequent visitors, hopefully this will change over time.
The quieter you are, the more you will see. Move slowly, sudden movements may scare your subject away.
Don't scroll on your phone as your face gets lit up by the screen and all the wildlife can see you, the Foxes are watching - always.
Do not wear strong smelling perfume / aftershave / deodorant etc
500 to 800 mm lens suitable for the distant perches.
100 to 400 mm lenses suitable for the closer subjects 1.8 meters / 6 feet.
If your lens will not focus on a close subject, consider the use of Macro extension tubes which will allow you to focus closer in without having to buy another lens. Do not purchase the cheapest out there, you need the electronic contacts to still be able to use autofocus.
